Spirit of Queensland Carriage Layout

Train Consist

The Spirit of Queensland consists of six customer carriages labelled Carriage B through to Carriage G. B is located at the front of the train with Carriage G located at the rear of the train.

Carriage B

RailBeds

Carriage B contains 16 RailBeds. RailBeds are numbered from 1 to 16, with 1 at the rear of the carriage and 16 at the front.

Aisle RailBeds in the flat position (for sleeping) are 1700mm in length, those against the carriage windows are 1900mm in length. All RailBeds are 515mm in width.

Configuration - 1:2. Note: If travelling solo we cannot guarantee a single RailBed option.

General Carriage Facilities

A unisex toilet with a baby change table is located at the rear left of the carriage (facing the direction of travel). There is enclosed overhead storage available for hand luggage throughout the carriage. A drink fountain with filtered water is located at the rear of the carriage. Luggage racks are located outside the entry door to the RailBed area and are available for carry-on items and a checked luggage service is also available.

Accessibility Information

Accessible RailBeds

RailBeds 1 and 2 are Accessible RailBeds, with a low side wall height of 420mm, and are located at the rear of the carriage.
The aisle width between these Accessible RailBeds is 1200mm.
The distance to the Accessible Bathroom is 10m.

Seating allocations for Accessible RailBeds (Travelling with a Carer)

A carer travelling with a customer who is booked in RailBed 1 will be allocated diagonally across to RailBed 5. A carer travelling with a customer in RailBed 2 will be allocated diagonally across to RailBed 4.

During travel, mobility devices, if collapsible, can be stored at the end of the carriage in the luggage rack. If not, an Accessible Space in Carriage E must be booked for storage of the mobility device. In general, dimension limits for mobility devices in Carriage E are 720mm wide by 1200mm long.

Travelling with an Assistance Animal

RailBeds 15 and 12 may be booked for customers travelling with an assistance animal. These RailBeds are located at the front of the carriage.
RailBed 15 has floor space to the side to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.
If RailBed 12 is booked, the aisle RailBed 13 will be held to provide floor space to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.

Accessible Unisex Bathroom

An accessible toilet (seat height 470mm) and shower (with a shower seat [470mm high (H) x 750mm long (L) x 370mm wide (W)] is located at the rear left of the carriage (facing the direction of travel). It is left-hand (LH) transfer.

Carriage C

RailBeds

Carriage C contains 19 RailBeds. RailBeds are numbered from 1 to 19, 1 at the rear of the carriage and 19 at the front.

Aisle RailBeds in the flat position (for sleeping) are 1700mm in length, those against the carriage windows are 1900mm in length. All RailBeds are 515mm in width.

Spirit of Queensland Cafe

The Spirit of Queensland Café is located between Carriages C and E.
The Café provides a selection of hot meals, sandwiches, salads, snacks, coffee, beer, and wine to purchase for your enjoyment. The Onboard team can provide an in-seat service to customers who cannot access the Café.
At the front of the carriage is an area to sit back and talk with other customers or simply watch the scenery go by.
Merchandise and souvenirs are available for purchase.

Carriage E

Economy Seats

Carriage E contains 32 Economy Seats and 3 Accessible Spaces. Seats are numbered from 8 to 43, with seat 8 at the rear of the carriage and seat 43 at the front. Accessible Space numbers are 1, 3 and 9 and are located at the rear of the carriage.

General Carriage Facilities

A unisex toilet with a baby change table is located at the rear left of the carriage (facing the direction of travel). There is enclosed overhead storage available for hand luggage throughout the carriage. A drink fountain with filtered water is located at the rear of the carriage. Luggage racks are located outside the entry door to the seating area and are available for carry-on items and a checked luggage service is also available.

Accessibility Information

Accessible Seats

Accessible seats are available, including for people transferring into the seat from a mobility device. They are located towards the rear of the carriage and the seat height is 430mm.
The aisle width between Accessible Seats 8 and 11 is 1650mm.
A carer travelling with a customer who is booked in Accessible Seat 8 will be allocated in front to seat 12.
A carer travelling with a customer booked in Accessible Seat 11 will be allocated in front to seat 15.
Mobility devices, if collapsible, can be stored at the end of the carriage in the luggage rack. If not, an Accessible Space in Carriage E is included in the Accessible Seat booking.

Accessible Spaces

This carriage has three Accessible Spaces for customers to travel in or store a mobility device such as a wheelchair or mobility scooter. These are labelled 1, 3 and 9 and are located at the rear of the carriage nearby the Accessible Seats. These spaces are available to customers when the Accessible Seats (E8 and E11) are added to their booking.
When Accessible Seat E8 is booked, the Accessible Spaces 1 and 9 will be allocated.
When Accessible Seat E11 is booked, the Accessible Space 3 will be allocated.
Accessible Space Dimensions:

• E1 = 1150mm wide (W) by 1900mm long (L)
• E3 = 550mm W by 2100mm L
• E9 = 550mm W by 1200mm L

Mobility Device Size restrictions apply. In general, these dimension limits are 720mm wide by 1200mm long.

Travelling with an Assistance Animal

Seats 40 and 43 may be booked for customers travelling with an assistance animal. These seats are located at the front of the carriage.
If seat 40 is booked, the aisle seat 41 will be held to provide floor space to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.
If seat 43 is booked, the aisle seat 42 will be held to provide floor space to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.

Accessible Unisex Bathroom

Travelling with an Assistance Animal

If Twin Sleeper 13 is booked, 12 will be held to provide floor space to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.

If Twin Sleeper 11 is booked, 10 will be held to provide floor space to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.

Tuckerbox Restaurant

The Tuckerbox Restaurant is located between Twin Sleeper Carriage D and the Shearers Rest carriage.

This dining car provides all-inclusive dining for twin and single sleeper customers with booth-style seating.

The menu includes hearty outback inspired chef prepared meals using some of Queensland’s best produce for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Tuckerbox Restaurant is exclusive to customers travelling in Single or Twin Sleepers.

There are 8 tables in the Tuckerbox Restaurant, each seating 4 customers per table.

Shearers Rest

The Shearers Rest carriage is located between the Tuckerbox Restaurant and Economy Seat Carriage F and is available to customers travelling in Single or Twin Sleepers.

There are 6 tables in the Shearers Rest carriage, each seating up to 4 customers per table. These are available to customers travelling in Single or Twin Sleepers only.

A selection of take away meals, light refreshments, snacks and drinks are available to purchase from the Servery windows in the corridor at the rear of the Shearers Rest carriage. A door halfway down the corridor separates the two Servery windows. Single and Twin Sleeper customers are welcome to purchase from the servery window at the front of the carriage, and Economy seat customers can purchase from the servery window at the rear of the carriage.

A unisex shower with a baby change table is located at the front left of the carriage (facing the direction of travel).

There is overhead storage available for hand luggage throughout the carriage. A drink fountain with filtered water is located at the front of the carriage. Luggage racks are located outside the entry door to the seating area and are available for carry-on items and a checked luggage service is also available.

A unisex shower with a baby change table is located at the front left of the carriage (facing the direction of travel).

There is overhead storage available for hand luggage throughout the carriage. A drink fountain with filtered water is located at the front of the carriage. Luggage racks are located outside the entry door to the seating area and are available for carry-on items and a checked luggage service is also available.

Rockhampton and Bundaberg Tilt Train Carriage Layout

Train Consist

The Rockhampton and Bundaberg Tilt Train consists of six carriages labelled Carriage A through to Carriage F. Carriage A is located at the front of the train with Carriage F located at the rear of the train.

Carriage A

Business Seats

Carriage A contains 27 seats and 3 Accessible Spaces. The 27 seats consist of Business Seats, Accessible Seats and seats allocated to carers if applicable. The seats are numbered from 4 to 30, with seat 4 at the rear of the carriage and seat 30 at the front. Accessible Space numbers are 1, 2 and 3 and are located at the rear of the carriage.

General Carriage Facilities

There is enclosed overhead storage available for hand luggage throughout the carriage. A drink fountain with filtered water is located at the rear of the carriage. Luggage racks are located outside the entry door to the seating area and are available for carry-on items and a checked luggage service is also available.

Accessibility Information

This carriage has three Accessible Spaces for customers to travel in or store a mobility device such as a wheelchair or mobility scooter. These are labelled 1, 2 and 3 and are located at the rear of the carriage nearby the Accessible Seats. These spaces are available to customers when the Accessible Seats (A4 and A5) are added to their booking.

When Accessible Seat A5 is booked, the Accessible Spaces 3 and 2 will be allocated.

When Accessible Seat A4 is booked, the Accessible Space 1 will be allocated.

Accessible Space Dimensions:

• A1 = 550mm wide (W) by 1700mm long (L)
• A2/3 = 600mm W by 1750mm L each. Total Combined Space 1200mm W by 1750 L.

Mobility Device Size restrictions apply. In general, these dimension limits are 680mm wide by 1200mm long.

Travelling with an Assistance Animal

Seats 30 and 27 may be booked for customers travelling with an assistance animal. These seats are located at the front of the carriage.

If seat 30 is booked, the aisle seat 29 will be held to provide floor space to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.

If seat 27 is booked, the aisle seat 26 will be held to provide floor space to comfortably accommodate an assistance animal.

Accessible Unisex Toilet

An accessible toilet (seat height 480mm) with a baby change table is located at the rear left of the carriage (facing the direction of travel). It is left-hand (LH) transfer.

Carriage B

A Servery is located at the front of carriage B, where a variety of hot food and snacks is available for purchase. The Onboard team can provide an in-seat service to customers who cannot access the Servery.

Note: This servery is not open on Bundaberg Tilt Train services QJ11 and Q994 and the Rockhampton Tilt Train Q311. On these services the servery in Carriage E is open.

There is a Servery located at the front of carriage E, where a variety of hot food and snacks is available for purchase. The Onboard team can provide an in-seat service to customers who cannot access the Servery. On the evening Rockhampton Tilt Train Q311 the servery is open between Brisbane and Howard.
