Customers must not
- smoke on trains and coaches (including vapes and e-cigarettes)
- consume alcohol that is not purchased onboard or consumed in unauthorised areas
- use drugs/illegal substances
- create a disturbance/nuisance on trains or coaches
- operate sound equipment, play a musical instrument, or behave on a train or coach at a noise level likely to be disruptive or deemed offensive to other customers
- put anything in the aisles of carriages that is likely to cause an obstruction or injury to someone
- bring onboard dangerous/illegal/prohibited goods (see Queensland Rail Travel Luggage Policy for more information)
- travel without paying the correct fare and/or travel using invalid tickets.
Customers must
- produce evidence of entitlements to a concession, upon request
- board the train or coach with an acceptable standard of cleanliness and personal hygiene and maintain this standard throughout their trip (minimum dress required is clean and tidy casual clothing)
- wear footwear when moving throughout the train or coach
- ensure all children under the age of 12 years are under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian at all times while onboard.
Queensland Rail reserves the right to issue an on the spot fine and/or direct people committing an offence to leave the service. People directed to leave a service may have their ticket confiscated and be refused future access to Queensland Rail Travel services.
Our
Conditions of Carriage, the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Act 1994 and the
Transport Infrastructure (Rail) Regulation 2017 stipulate ticketing requirements and standards for behaviour on trains and coaches.
