Bush Tukka Tours​

Guests are warmly welcomed to Country with a traditional smoking ceremony before embarking on foot for a journey through Country. Accompanied by Elders along the trail, visitors gain deeper insight into the various bush tucker plants in the area. Guides explain how the different fruits, tree leaves, branches, bark and bushes are used for medicine and food, firesticks, spears, baskets and canoes. Many Traditional Owners in the region still use these plants today.

​Rock Art Tours​

Rock art serves as a historical record, a storytelling medium and a message left by ancestors. Guests can visit traditional sites around Townsville to view ancient rock art, where guides explain the significance of the symbols used in the rock art and the stories and events depicted in the art. 

Both tours are conducted under the mentoring and patronage of Uncle Russell Butler of the Bandinjin Tribal Group, Uncles David and Alfred Smallwood of the Bindal Traditional Owners and other Elders. Their wisdom and knowledge provide an enriching experience, connecting guests to the ancient traditions and stories of Gudjuda Country.
