Our fares are changing for travel from 1 April 2026
From 1 April 2026, long-distance rail fares will increase by around 3.4%. With an additional increase to premium travel options of RailBeds (Spirit of Queensland) and Sleeper cabins (Spirit of the Outback) to reflect the travel inclusions, such as the sleeping accommodation, onboard meals and service throughout your trip.
There will be no change to the administration fee paid by Queensland Pension Concession card holders travelling in Economy Seats, with a pensioner entitlement fee remaining at $25.
The fare increase applies to all services booked for travel from 1 April 2026. The fare update helps us continue to deliver safe, comfortable and memorable rail journeys across Queensland.
