Queensland Rail Travel has a wide range of fare options and we're sure one will meet your needs. Read on for a selection of our discounted and concession fares available. Our fares are changing from 1 April 2027
From 1 April 2027, rail fares for long-distance rail services will increase by around 3.4% for Economy Seat and Premium travel options, including RailBed and Sleeper cabins. Queensland Pensioner entitlement fares for Economy Seat travel will remain unchanged at $25.
The fare change helps us continue to deliver safe, comfortable and memorable rail journeys across Queensland. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.
Bookings for travel from 1 April 2027, will open on Monday 26 October and Tuesday 27 October 2026, as follows:
- Monday 26 October 2026
- Spirit of Queensland between Brisbane and Cairns
- Tuesday 27 October 2026
- All other long-distance rail services, including the Spirit of the Outback, Tilt Train, Inlander and Westlander.

If you are planning to travel from 1 April 2027, you can view fares using our Journey Information tool once bookings are available from 26 and 27 October.
