From 1 April 2026, long-distance rail fares will increase by around 3.4%. With an additional increase to premium travel options of RailBeds and Sleeper cabins to reflect the added value of sleeping accommodation, onboard meals and service throughout your trip.
There will be no fare increase for Queensland Pensioner entitlement travel bookings travelling in economy seats, with that fare to remain at $25.
The fare increase applies to all services booked for travel from 1 April 2026, with bookings scheduled to open mid-January 2026.
